Peter Joyce 'Marks of Passage'
The force and fragility of the natural world, was the focus of Peter Joyce’s most recent exhibition, Marks of Passage, which we held at Gallery 8 on Duke Street St James’s in May.
Joyce is a British painter who now lives and works in the remote marshland of western France. He has a long-established reputation among artists working in the Modern British tradition and is considered a key figure by collectors, advisors, curators and decorators. With a career spanning over thirty years, his work is regularly exhibited at the major London art fairs and held in private and public collections internationally.
“There is much to look at and appreciate in Peter’s paintings. They can be experienced on a visual level as beautifully balanced compositions of form, texture and colour. But this would miss out on the serious intent and deep thought that goes into Peter’s art, and his strong understanding of the force and fragility of the landscape.”
