Bawden travelled to Italy with the artist Walter Hoyle (1922-2000), the adventures of which Hoyle later described in his book 'To Sicily with Edward Bawden'. Another image from the same city is in the Government Art Collection, acquired from the Zwemmer Galleries in 1957, https://artcollection.dcms.gov.uk/artwork/3969/. Some of the two artist's works were included in 'Watercolours and Drawings by Edward Bawden and Walter Hoyle of Enna, Sicily' at The Fry Art Gallery in June 1998.
