Bryan Ingham 1936-1997

George Bryan Ingham was born in Preston, Lancashire. He studied at the St.Martin's School of Art from 1957-61 with Frederick Gore and Archibald Ziegler and then at the Royal College of Art in 1961-64 under Carel Weight.

 

Ingham won an Italian Government Scholarship and a Leverhulme Postgraduate Research Award. He took part in group exhibitions at the Lords Gallery from 1964, Wills Lane Gallery in St.Ives and New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham. Had a solo show at Graffiti Gallery in 1980, and other shows in Germany and at the Francis Graham-Dixon Gallery from 1988. He showed at the Book Gallery, St.Ives in the 1990s.

 

His work is represented in a number of public and private collections, including Arts Council, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, Victoria & Albert Museum, Deutsche Bank, Dartington Hall and Print Collectors' Club in Washington.
