Biography

Harold Workman was a 20th Century British painter in oil and watercolour; mainly of architectural subjects but, also including canal and water scenes.

 

He was born in Oldham, Lancashire on the 3 October 1897 - the 3rd son of Ernest Workman (who's family painting and decorating business was based in Oldham). He studied at the Machester School of Art and exhibited widely at the RA, NEAC, RBA, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts. His work is represented in at the Oldham's Art Gallery and Museum, Salford Art Gallery and several other provincial collections.
