The historic "Homage to T.S. Eliot" benefit performance took place at the Globe Theatre in London on June 13, 1965, organised by the London Library, and devised by Vera Lindsay, just five months after the poet's death. The star-studded memorial event featured readings by Laurence Olivier and Peter O’Toole, stage designs by Henry Moore, and a surprise comedic appearance by Groucho Marx. Opened with Igor Stravinsky’s musical memorial Introitus, set against a backdrop featuring a Moore sculpture (Three Way Piece No.2: Archer) and stage projections by Bridget Riley.
